How Stern Stella works
Nothing to install, no dashboard to learn. Stella works inside Tallyfy and does one job: make your steps better, safely, month after month. Here's the whole loop:
Watch.
Your processes run in Tallyfy as usual. Stella watches how each run went: how long it took, what it cost, what got sent back, where people had to ask.
Find.
In the background, Stella looks for waste. A step that costs more than it should. A step everyone keeps asking about. Work paid for twice.
Prove or ask.
If a change cannot alter the result, Stella applies it and leaves a note. If it touches wording, she opens an approval task with the before, the after and the evidence. You say yes or no.
Save.
Every version of every step is saved forever, with who approved it and what it saved. One click puts any old version back.
Repeat.
Next month the loop runs again, a little smarter than last time. Improvements stack.
One improvement, start to finish
Take one example. An onboarding step says: "Get the laptop ready for the new hire and make sure everything works." Reads fine. Runs terribly. Across five runs it got sent back twice, with the same questions every time: which apps? who approves access? by when?
So Stella drafted a rewrite and opened an approval task: before on the left, after on the right, evidence underneath. A named person read it and clicked yes.

The rewrite became version 7, live for every future launch. Version 6 stayed saved, along with every version before it.

Two kinds of steps, two different rules
AI steps auto-improve only when the change is provably identical: run the same work overnight when it costs less, or stop paying full price for instructions that repeat. The AI sees exactly the same thing, so the result cannot change. Each change leaves a note saying what changed and what it saved.
Anything that touches wording waits for a human. If a single character would change, on any kind of step, you get a before and after with evidence, and a named person says yes or no. Without an approval, nothing changes.
And everything is undoable. Every version of every step is saved forever. Restoring one takes a click.
Where the guaranteed savings come from
The changes that apply on their own use discounts the AI providers publish, not tricks:
- Work that can wait runs overnight at half price. Anthropic, OpenAI and Google all publish this 50% rate for work that can finish within a day.
- Instructions that repeat are billed at up to 90% less after the first run. Also a published rate.
- Work that already ran once is never paid for twice.
Same instructions, same result. Only the bill and the timing change.
What will Stella never do?

Never changes what an AI step produces. A change applies on its own only when it cannot alter the result. That test is a hard gate in the code. Nothing talks its way past it.

Never rewrites a human step on its own. Wording changes wait for a named person to approve them.

Never touches work already in flight. A process that's mid-run finishes exactly as it started. Improvements apply from the next launch.

Never deletes a version. The full history of every step is saved forever.

Never charges for looking. Passes are free. You pay only when an improvement ships.

Never shares your text. Patterns learned across companies carry no words from your steps, only get used after they show up in at least 3 separate organizations, and you can opt out.

Never guesses. Where the evidence is thin, Stella says "insufficient evidence" instead of inventing a number.
